The Organization of Calypso Performing Artistes (OCPA) is a registered not for profit arts organization founded in 1981 to promote calypso and soca in Canada.
OCPA presents a year-round programme of activities that include workshops, seminars, awards shows, concerts, competitions, and special events featuring Canadian and International Calypso and Soca artists.
The Calypso Tents Music Series kicks off the summer season and showcases the best of Canada’s calypso songwriting. The summer programme culminates with the exciting Calypso Monarch competition that is held the weekend before the Caribana Festival. is led by a volunteer ten-member Board of Directors and our offices are located at 215 Spadina Avenue, Suite 120, in downtown Toronto. operates as an independent partner of the Festival Management Committee in the production of one of North America’s largest Caribbean festivals – CARIBANA.
Membership is open to all persons interested in the development of calypso and soca in Canada.
